Two of our papers featured on AmphibiaWeb!
Our research on the guardian frog of Borneo Limnonectes palavanensis was highlighted on AmphibiaWeb's News of the Week! The spotlight highlights findings from the Goyes Vallejos et al. 2017 Behav. Ecol. Sociobiol paper and the Goyes Vallejos et al. 2018 J Nat Hist paper, which together provide compelling evidence suggesting that female frogs of this species actively court and compete for males (a rare behavior among frogs), while males invest significant time and effort in caring for their offspring. While further evidence is needed to conclusively demonstrate sex role reversal, our findings mark a significant step forward in understanding amphibian behavior.
Special thanks to Kyle Summers for featuring our research! You can read the full feature on AmphibiaWeb's website here.
